Oakland, CA is a port city that is beginning to step out of the shadow of San Francisco, its neighbor to the west. Every visitor should start their Oakland trip in the downtown area and Old Oakland, the city's historic quarter full of quaint old buildings. You can also easily visit Virginia Beach from Hampton, and the city offers cruises and harbor tours. Take amazing views at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, and explore the Sandy Bottom Nature Park with your family. Try your hand at Atlantic fishing with the different charter fishing services, and play golf at the Woodlands Golf Course while in Hampton, VA.

Hampton is bustling with fun things to do for people of all ages and offers a thriving beer scene with popular names like St. George Brewing Company. Every year, Hampton organizes The Festival, which reenacts the 18th century Hampton when pirates overran it. If you can't wait till The Festival, the downtown Hampton area is located at the waterfront, with restaurants, art galleries, pubs, marinas, and a waterfront park.

You can easily travel to Hampton by bus. Greyhound offers the most routes, but you can also find liens from Wanda Coach. Hampton Roads Transit provides bus, ridesharing, light rail, paratransit, and ferry within the city.
