Durham is a little treasure cove for all fans of history and the United States’ heritage. The first and foremost thing you should try out is go on a hike on one of the city’s iconic trails. For a more traditional hiking experience, try the Eno River Trail. If you wish to enjoy a more unique experience, the American Tobacco Trail will be a better choice, as it follows the old CSX railroad. For those who want to explore the city’s rich history, check out the Stagville Plantation, which is now a museum dedicated to the city’s antebellum history, offering a unique historical perspective.

The main bus station is the Transportation Center located at 515 W Pettigrew St in Downtown Durham. The main Amtrak train station in Durham is located around the corner from the bus stop at 601 W Main St. Durham is served by Amtrak’s Carolinian and Piedmont lines. The city’s air services are handled by the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, 12 miles southeast of the city.

Allentown, aka the Queen City, holds historical significance in Pennsylvania. The Liberty Bell is the biggest attraction in town, with travelers coming from across the country to see the famous bell patriots successfully hid during the American Revolution. If you're in tune with art or monumental buildings, the city's museum has over 17,000 works of art that hold the history of the people that lived there.

On a more adventurous note, there is the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, known best for Karting, where you can get your fix at over 40 miles an hour on the quarter-mile track. It has a league of racers that are devoted to becoming the top Karters in the city. Get behind the wheel to give them some competition- or sit back with a drink to watch the races. Allentown has a variety of bus companies providing intercity transport, including Greyhound, Fullington Trailways, and Martz. Amtrak also provides service from major cities like New Orleans, Newark, and Dallas. Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton (ABE) station is about 4 miles out from the city, which makes it easy to catch a quick bus or train anywhere.
