Though some might say that it is overshadowed by nearby Boston, Providence is an interesting destination on its own. The main Amtrak train station is located just a 10-minute walk across the Woonasquatucket River.

You can also easily visit Virginia Beach from Hampton, and the city offers cruises and harbor tours. Hampton is bustling with fun things to do for people of all ages and offers a thriving beer scene with popular names like St. George Brewing Company. Every year, Hampton organizes The Festival, which reenacts the 18th century Hampton when pirates overran it. If you can't wait till The Festival, the downtown Hampton area is located at the waterfront, with restaurants, art galleries, pubs, marinas, and a waterfront park.
