Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station first opened in 1916, and connected Dallas to the United States’ growing rail network. Today, the station offers service on Amtrak’s Texas Eagle line which runs from Chicago to San Antonio. Passengers can also connect to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (or DART) within the station. Located just east of downtown Dallas, Union Station is conveniently close to the Dallas Convention Center, the primary bus station, and several of the area’s main freeways. Parking, restrooms, and vending machines are available at the station, and it’s easy to grab a quick bite at any one of numerous nearby eateries, from fast food joints to steakhouses.

The Central Transfer Station on First Ave in Ocala is a coach stop for Amtrak Thruway coaches and local SunTran coaches. Coaches pull up to the lot adjacent to the red brick building near the train tracks; however, the building does not have a waiting area for passengers, and you will board the coach from the curb. The coach stop is right next to Tuscawilla Art Park and Tuscawilla Lake, so if you have time to kill, walk around the park grounds and check out the unique sculptures scattered throughout.
