About Capitol Corridor
Capitol Corridor is one of eight rail routes that operate across the state of California. Capitol Corridor provides intercity rail service across Northern California, connecting Auburn to San Jose. Most trains operate on the part of the route from San Jose (California's first state capitol) to Sacramento (California's current state capitol), hence the name “Capitol Corridor.”
Capitol Corridor provides transport to around 1.5 million passengers annually on its service to 18 stations. Some of the main stations include Santa Clara, Oakland, Berkeley, and Sacramento. Capitol Corridor trains travel 168 miles in under four hours.
Capitol Corridor stands out from other rail routes due to the stunning landscapes and landmarks the trains pass by. From the protected wetland habitat of Alviso Slough to the Famous Levi's stadium, when you're traveling on the Capitol Corridor, you'll never be short on sights to pass the time. In addition, the Capitol Corridor has a strong commitment to a green and sustainable future, with trains designed for reduced emissions and energy efficiency.
Capitol Corridor trains provide numerous amenities to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Onboard WiFi ensures that you will always have entertainment at hand. Capitol Corridor only offers coach class seating to its passengers, but there is plenty of room for bikes and luggage storage onboard. See how much luggage you can bring on trains to ensure you don't overpack.
Capitol Corridor has been an official partner of Wanderu since 2015, making it easy to search routes and secure the best deal. And if you are an Amtrak Guest Rewards member, don’t forget to enter your unique number during checkout, so you can continue collecting points.

Capitol Corridor passenger reviews
Pros I did not have to deal with traffic.
Pros The silence is on the inside. Cons I think nothing Tips It's worth traveling by train and enjoying the natural scenery.
Pros First time using Amtrack and Wanderu it was stress free. I was able to commute to Suisun City with no trouble at all. Cons This was my own fault for not looking closer at this, but I think when making booking plans make sure that station in the same city is not at somewhere else. I thought I was booking at Jack London in Oakland instead it was Oakland coliseum. Tips Double check your booking before paid for it.
Pros Excellent deal on the ticket. Very quick online booking and helpful staff
Pros I got to talk to college students leaving to see their families for vacation. Cons It was hard to take my luggage up and down the narrow stairs… no one told me about leaving it downstairs Tips Go on the train.. the views were BEAUTIFUL!!!
Pros It was on time, and I like the food at the canteen or lounge Cons Toilet flushed Tips Yes, good panoramic views
Pros Friendly staff, first time on the train and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cons Carpet might need a steam cleaning. Tips I think there's some shady people that come on and ride for free they'll hide in the bathroom to bypass the ticket check and then take people's bikes that aren't locked up.
Pros less stressful compared to driving Cons Maybe make it a bit cheap. Do you have senior discount? Tips I did not encounter anything that made me uncomfortable. I think my trip was pleasant and am thinking of doing it again.
Pros It was comfortable
Pros What I liked about my trip is that, it was a nice smooth ride & it was on time. The staff were very friendly and also waited for those that was running to catch the train. Tips Booktbrough wanderu
Pros Nice and smooth Cons Clean carpets
Pros The views were amazing and the train ride was great. Cons The price of the ticket could be decreased.
Pros Comfort and safety Cons Signs to know where the snaks are or if there are snaks and Wi-Fi no work Tips It is a very good option to travel even for foreigners it is very convenient to get your trip ready from your phone
Pros That I didn’t have to drive at 83 yrs old. Cons The signs giving directions. Tips I followed the sign to C track but was on the wrong side of the track and didn’t realize it until ten minutes before the train left. I had to run with my roller bag all the way down the ramp and up the next and just made it. I was able to get a single seat but it wasn’t comfortable, very hard on old bones. I had no idea it was long way to the boarding. I would have asked for help but I can walk without a Walker or cane so didn’t think I’d have a problem. Then when I went to exit the train it was a big jump to get off. Luckily, a man nearby held my suitcase until I got off and handed it to me. I thought this trip would be like my train from Lake Tahoe last summer on the Zepher. It was much harder for me. I was hoping I’d be able to do this again to see my granddaughter in Sacramento, but I don’t think I can handle it.
Pros The cleaniness and the passengers were very polite, thoughtful. Cons A lettle uncomfortable about my luggage and where to store it Tips Be on time!!!
Pros That there was a station in Fremont. Cons There was a group of around 20 passengers who were there early and waiting on the north side of the tracts (after we checked with a prior train porter about which side was correct). But the train came on the south side and we all had to run to catch it. I’m 83 and carrying my bag and running was a real hardship.
Pros I feel so relax and enjoyed the view. Cons Just new, maybe next time Tips You will feel rest and comfortable,no traffic to worry at all.
Pros The view; the quiet; the peace. Getting home in the same time it took to drive. Just great. Cons Nothing. It was great. Tips Rain the train whenever you can.
Pros It was a relaxing, pleasant trip. Cons An open, nearby restroom at the Suisun City Train Station on the weekends! The station is closed on weekends.
Pros It was very comfortable. I got to see the scenery of the mountains, the lake, downtown Oakland, and the bridges. I took some photos of them. Cons Even though I bought snacks for myself, I would recommend that the fridge be repaired. Tips They were nice people.
