About Capitol Corridor

Capitol Corridor is one of eight rail routes that operate across the state of California. Capitol Corridor provides intercity and commuter rail across Northern California, connecting Auburn to San Jose. Most trains operate on the part of the route from San Jose (California's first state capitol) to Sacramento (California's current state capitol), hence the name "Capitol Corridor."

Capitol Corridor provides transport to around 1.5 million passengers annually on its service to 18 stations. Some of the main stations include Santa Clara, Oakland, Berkeley, and Sacramento. Capitol Corridor trains travel 168 miles in under four hours.

Capitol Corridor stands out from other rail routes due to the stunning landscapes and landmarks the trains pass by. From the protected wetland habitat of Alviso Slough to the Famous Levi's stadium, when you're traveling on the Capitol Corridor, you'll never be short on sights to pass the time. In addition, the Capitol Corridor has a strong commitment to a green and sustainable future, with trains designed for reduced emissions and energy efficiency.

Capitol Corridor trains provide numerous amenities to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Onboard WiFi ensures that you will always have entertainment at hand. Capitol Corridor only offers coach class seating to its passengers, but there is plenty of room for bikes and luggage storage onboard. See how much luggage you can bring on trains to ensure you don't overpack.

Capitol Corridor has been an official partner of Wanderu since 2015, making it easy to search routes and secure the best deal. And if you are an Amtrak Guest Rewards member, don’t forget to enter your unique number during checkout, so you can continue collecting points.
