About Amtrak Pennsylvanian
The Pennsylvanian is a daytime train line managed by the nationwide rail network Amtrak. It provides convenient and affordable transport from New York City to Pittsburgh via Philadelphia. Some notable stops along the train's route through Pennsylvania are Harrisburg, Lewistown, and Trenton.
Riding the entire line from New York City to Pittsburgh takes about 9 hours, so there is only one daily trip in each direction. Since the Pennsylvanian is one of the most scenic Amtrak routes in America, passengers can spend those 9 hours drinking in the sights like the Allegheny Mountains and Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The highlight of the trip is the historic Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, where the train tracks double back in a giant semicircle, and passengers in the front cars can wave to passengers in the rear cars.
You will find basic amenities on the Pennsylvanian such as a cafe car selling food and drinks, free onboard WiFi, and checked baggage service for unencumbered travel. The train offers two classes of seats: Coach Class and Business Class, with the latter offering more legroom and more flexible ticket change policies.
The Amtrak Pennsylvanian became an official Wanderu partner in 2015, making it easy to search and compare all the best coach and train options in one place. Wanderu is the best place to find a good deal on Pennsylvanian tickets, at no additional cost.

Pros I love riding the train. I’ve taken 2 trips from Boston to Tyrone, then a trip from Boston to Orlando. For this trip once in Pittsburgh I wanted to visit family in Tyrone, so to do my trip the way I wanted to waste train from Pittsburgh to Tyrone. The mountains are beautiful. Pros Direct from home to my kids; no transfers, and a smooth trip with no 'restbstops'. Tips Yes. ONE TICKET, ONE SEAT. It was announced that it was a full train.
