About Amtrak Heartland Flyer
Amtrak Heartland Flyer is a daily each-way train service operated by Amtrak. It connects Oklahoma City with Fort Worth, Texas, in under five hours, with stops in 7 cities like Purcell and Gainesville as part of the route.
The 206-mile end-to-end route has been operating since 1999, making it one of Amtrak's newest services. Amtrak Heartland Flyer carries around 80,000 passengers each year and is considered one of the best cross-country travel methods. The service came second in the 2022 Wanderu Passengers' Choice Award for both Best Train Line in the United States and Best Ground Travel Provider in the Southwest.
Passengers can enjoy Amtrak's extra legroom alongside air-conditioned cars, restrooms, and power outlets. Currently, the service doesn't have onboard WiFi, providing the perfect excuse for enjoying the passing scenery instead. Leisure passengers should also take note of the Heartland Flyer Bike Service, which allows passengers to bring their bicycles on board as long as they have an advanced reservation.
When it comes to tickets for the Amtrak Heartland Flyer, Wanderu is the only site you'll ever need. As an official partner of Amtrak since 2015, Wanderu provides the cheapest deals available for all Amtrak Heartland Flyer trips.

Amtrak Heartland Flyer passenger reviews
Pros Train to many delays. Clean. Poor. Cons Clean
Pros No hassle and comfortable environment Cons Can’t think of a thing Tips Be able to occupy yourself for 4 hours. Anyone who wanted it had both seats to themselves and a lot of passengers brought their own blankets and slept.
Pros Everything Cons Nothing
Pros It was a amazing wonderful ride. I really loved it. It was my first time riding a train. Best experience and best staff . Will definitely ride again.vv Cons Nothing. Keep doing the Oklahoma City to Ft worth or Dallas. Please don't stop that service Tips You will love it. It's better than a plane

Pros Convenient and smooth Cons Better wifi Tips It is comfortable and reliable. Would reccomend.
Pros New to train rides. It was much smoother than expected. Cons The PA system can stand to be improved. His announcements were not clear. We hardly knew any of what he was saying; a word or two here and there. Tips Be a little early to get a good choice of seats.
Pros My first train trip, very excited about the adventure of it. Cons We were delayed an hour and a half! Some due to a storm, who knew the train would stop and wait for a storm to blow through. So notification of possible delays would be beneficial. The ride was rougher than I expected. Not the rocking of the car but the banging causing everyone to jump. No explanation or notification of when we would arrive at our destination. Tips Bring a blanket!
Pros Comfortable trip Cons Arrival times both going and returning Tips Bring fan. It got a bit hot
Cons Quiet, peaceful and very comfortable! Stress free unlike driving or flying. Tips Bring a jacket—it was a little cool.
Pros It was fun and a great way to travel. Enjoyed seeing the scenery and not having to drive. Cons I’m not sure there’s anything. Tips Bring earbuds or headphones if you want to listen to a ballgame or music on your phone.
Pros My boyfriend had never ridden a train so this was a good way to experience a train trip. Cons No sure I see any way to improve.
Tips Definitely try the Irish coffee.
Pros Spacious seating and cafe Cons The wifi and charging stations
Pros Everything - noticed the plugs were working, but not on the going up to Norman. The particular seat I was in going to FtW hurt my back. Glad I had a neck pillow to soften the area. Cons Brighten the area Make sure ALL plugs work Check each seat to make sure each is comfortable. I was in the lower coach, maybe the second or third aisle seat. Can’t improve it n the conductors! Tips Make reservations on computer. NOT on phone!
Pros It was a great experience an loved the staff Cons Explain which way train is moving so we didn’t have to sit backwards Tips Check on which way train is moving I didn’t care to sit backwards
