Pros
Once on the bus, everything went so smoothly!
Cons
It was hard to figure out where to print our tickets, and whether or not we had to print our tickets. We arrived early to figure it out, but nearly missed our bus bc things weren’t always clear. Also, the charging ports on the bus were all broken.
Tips
Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of disease!

I took a bus from Port Authority, New York City to Ithaca, NY. The bus was on time leaving and arriving. I even slept most of the way. No muss, no fuss.

Pros
Nothing much, the trip implied making only one stop, whereas we made several stops. The lights were on the whole time, and I couldn’t sleep.
Cons
The seats are in bad shape, not enough room for legs, also arrangement of the seats can be improved, also the lamps inside the bus should be dimmer.
Tips
Bring sleep mask, those passengers travelling from Ithaca should be seated at the end of the bus to avoid discomfort from boarding passengers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do ShortLine buses have WiFi?

No, unfortunately ShortLine does not offer WiFi aboard its buses at this time. However, we find that a good book makes the time fly by and streaming services like Netflix allow you download TV shows and movies that you can then watch during your trip. Plan ahead and you will stay entertained during the entire bus ride.

Are there power outlets or USB plugs on the bus?

ShortLine does not offer power outlets on their buses at this time. We suggest you charge up your laptop ahead of time and bring a power bank for your phone to extend its battery life for the duration of the trip. And remember - a good book doesn’t require any power.

What is ShortLine's schedule?

On a typical day, ShortLine has 48 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Can you pick up will call tickets at the station?

No, ShortLine does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station.

Do you need an ID to get on the bus?

No, ShortLine does not require an ID to board its buses at this time. Of course, it is always a good idea to carry a government-issued ID whenever you hit the road.

Are there bathrooms on ShortLine buses?

No, there are no bathrooms available on ShortLine buses. Though there are no bathrooms onboard, typically breaks are scheduled in the itinerary to allow passengers to use bathroom facilities along the way.

Are meals or beverages available?

ShortLine does not offer meals or beverages onboard. We recommend you bring a drink and some snacks for your trip. We also suggest packing a reusable water bottle with you to reduce your impact on the environment. However, note that most buses do not allow you to bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Do you have to print your ShortLine ticket?

Yes, ShortLine requires that all passengers have printed tickets to board the bus. When you book with Wanderu and activate your account, you will be able to easily find and download your tickets for most buses.

Does ShortLine offer any premium features like extra legroom or movies?

ShortLine goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as ShortLine offers extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you get may vary between bus lines, but getting extra is always good.
