Pros: Solid comfortability and chargers and free wifi make Amtrak a solid choice on average for travel from nyc. Also important to mention the amazing scenic views traveling up the hudson river. Cons: So i had two travel bags with me 30lb and 50lb. At one point I was told that i would have to walk two carriages back to get off the train. They changed that plan about 10 minutes later. But I had just gotten back from the UK. Trains over there no matter if you were traveling 10 miles or 100 have buttons on the sides of all doors that are activated once the train stops to allow for passengers to leave and enter. Then the conductors keep track of which cars people entered, pass through and collect new passengers tickets. This is part of the job of someone on a train. Also important to mention communication. This was the first time i was ever told that i could exit the back of my carriage. But we were loaded into carraiges based on our destination. Coordination needs to improve to allow for easy and simple passenger unload. Tips: Pack a lunch seeing as these are long travels and also there are a lot of stops along the way.

Pros: Didn't have to drive. Cons: Only problem was the Freight Train we caught up to. But that isn't anything that can be changed because of the shared tracks. Tips: They have a cafe' car but still bring some water and snacks if you want to.

Pros: I enjoyed the nice view from the train. The on-train staff were very nice and friendly, and the train food wasn’t bad. I especially appreciated the vegan food options in the train. Cons: The train station staff in New York were not friendly. The checked baggage police was confusing on the train information received with my ticket, and when I went to customer service to ask about what I should do, they were quite rude/indifferent to my questions. Tips: Overall, I enjoyed this experience. I would travel by this train again.
