Famously described as "the pearl of the Adriatic," Dubrovnik is a city located on the southern coast of Croatia. You might recognize Dubrovnik as King's Landing from "Game of Thrones," but this city is filled with a history and culture all its own within the iconic city walls.

Take a walk through the Old Town to discover the city's true essence. In the main square, you'll find the iconic bell tower, as well as Orlando's Column, the Church of Saint Blaise, and a statue of Dubrovnik's most famous playwright, Marin Držić. You can even take one of the many available guided walking tours to see some of the lesser-known areas of the Old Town. If you prefer to forge your own path, walking the city walls is the easiest way to get your bearings. Enjoy magnificent views of the city and coastline along the 1,940-meter walkway and stop for refreshments at open-terrace cafes along the way.

After exploring Dubrovnik's various historical landmarks, take a break by unwinding on the beach. One of the most appealing beaches in the area is Lapad beach, thanks to a pedestrian zone opposite the aquamarine waters with several bars and restaurants.

Unlike Daenerys, you won't need dragons to get to King's Landing - er, Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik Airport provides international air travel through many major airlines, and several bus providers stop at the city's station from nearby towns.
