The train is a solid option for people like me who don't like flying, but I'd you don't mind air travel, it's hardly more expensive for a much shorter trip.
Train travel could and should be so much faster. This isn't exactly Amtrak's fault, but they haven't done much to improve things. Also the WiFi was worse than just using mobile data, which was not particularly strong.
If you're not in a hurry, the train is a much more comfortable ride. Make sure to have options that don't rely on consistent internet to keep you busy.

I love to take pictures and some of the scenery out the window we're really wonderful. The views along the coast were really pretty.
