Pros: Convenience. Cons: Clean bathrooms periodically. The longer I was on the train the worse the rooms got. Food for purchase could be fresher. My croissant was very hard on the bottom half and there wasn't any avocado on it. The staff could have been friendlier. Tips: Bring your own food.

The station was built in 1975 to replace the downtown Main Street Station. It now serves as an important terminal for routes traveling up and down the American East. Passengers can venture north onboard the Northeast Regional service—Amtrak’s busiest route—to Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston. Richmond’s Amtrak Station also offers several southward connections to vacation destinations along the East Coast in [South Carolina(/train-tickets/us-sc/), Georgia, and Florida. In addition, the GRTC bus service is available from the station for transport into downtown Richmond.

Savannah’s Amtrak Station was built in 1962 and reflected a mid-century modern architecture style. An endearing mosaic of a locomotive welcomes you at the front of the building. Amtrak’s Silver Service stops at this station, and Savannah is the final destination of the Amtrak Palmetto from New York City. The waiting room inside features restrooms, vending machines, and even murals depicting Savannah’s history.
