Amtrak Illinois Zephyr train tickets - Search & book deals

Pros: Got to my destination and wasn't horribly expensive to get there. Cons: The coach seats need to be more comfortable for the travel time.

Pros: Comfortable and stress free trip to downtown Chicago. Cons: Departure 15 min late, arrival 30 min late. Not all Amtrak’s fault but need to eliminate delays to be dependable.

Pros: I really enjoyed the aspect that I didn't need to drive and could spend time with my children. Cons: Speed and or entertainment options on the train.

Pros: I did not have to drive myself to Chicago. Cons: In Chicago when boarding they didn’t assign a seat. In Galesburg when boarding they did. A little confusing. Tips: Sit back and enjoy.

Pros: The car attendant was nice and very helpful. Cons: The ticket could include a snack and drink. Tips: Very efficient and economical means of transportation really. Will recommend to anybody.

Pros: How easy and hassle free it was. Comfortable ride. Much more comfortable than an airplane or the last time I was on a bus, which was years ago. Temperature was well controlled. Just right. Cons: Our car to Chicago had a smell of old cigarette smoke from years past but our car on the return trip was very clean and fresh smelling. Tips: Bring a neck pillow if you actually want to sleep. But was fine for just dozing off now and then. I did not need WiFi so I can’t say if it worked but I assume since I saw someone using their laptop.

Pros: Ride was smooth. Employees were great! Cons: I thought it was great. Tips: Bring a blanket if it feels cool I needed it but my husband was fine without.

Pros: Everything went smoothly as usual. Cons: The food in the cafe & the alcohol available could be better. Tips: Highly recommend Amtrak. Rode it several times never any issues. Cheaper than gas.

Need to be on time

Pros: For an older woman, traveling with family, I’m happy to say it was a very nice experience. Comfortable temperature, and comfortable seats. As a tall woman, I was glad to see the tall seats and the foot rests, too. The windows! Were large and gave a large view of the landscape; the curtains were effective when they were used. Cons: Trash area was quite small. Tips: Just enjoy!

Pros: From Chicago to Princeton was fine. It was on time, smooth and comfortable. Cons: N/A.

Pros: The time. Cons: Nothing. Tips: None.
