Chamblee is one of Atlanta's neighbors to the northeast, whose development stemmed primarily from an intersection of two railroads in the late 19th century. Much of downtown Chamblee retains a charming railroad-community vibe, with plenty of antique shops to match. Chamblee is also the site of what is known as "Atlanta's Chinatown." There is no designated Chinatown in Atlanta, but Chamblee's suburban community includes an Asian shopping mall called Atlanta Chinatown. Chamblee has a train station on the MARTA Gold Line, a commuter rail line that goes directly into downtown Atlanta. The city does not connect to Amtrak train service, but Wanda Coach has many intercity bus connections from Chamblee. An affordable bus ride on Wanda Coach can take you to New York, Richmond, Charlotte, Baltimore, or Washington.
