Pros: able to read on ride friendly conversations with other passengers didn't have to drive. Cons: audio on trains is poor - hard to here instructions and updates sharing the tracks with freight seems to slow things down. Tips: packing light makes everything smoother.

Pros: It was surprisingly very clean and comfortable. Pretty smooth ride and I had my seat to myself most of the time. Bathroom was also pretty cleans and that’s usually hit or miss. Departed right on time as usual. Cons: Not rechecking tickets throughout the trip. I was awoken out of my sleep to check when I had already shown it. I get they were just doing what they were supposed to but not having that policy period would be great. Tips: Service is really bad and wifi isn’t that great. Have a screenshot of your pass for ticket rechecks because you might not have any service at all and it would be difficult to access. Also be there ON TIME that departure time is not a joke.

Located around 5 miles north of Richmond’s city center, the Amtrak Station on Staples Mill Road is Amtrak’s busiest transport hub in the Southeast Region. The station was built in 1975 to replace the downtown Main Street Station. It now serves as an important terminal for routes traveling up and down the American East.
