About Amtrak Wolverine

The Wolverine is a train line operated by America's largest passenger rail network, Amtrak. Since 1971, the Wolverine has served the corridor between Chicago and Pontiac, Michigan, as part of Amtrak's Michigan Services. Notable stops along the route include Chicago, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and Detroit.

The line makes three round-trips every day on the 304 miles between Chicago and Pontiac. The full route takes about 6 hours to complete, but the hours fly by thanks to the scenery of Lake Michigan accompanying part of the trip.

Trains on the Wolverine line include a cafe car where you can purchase meals and drinks, as well as a quiet car if you prefer to sleep during the trip. Plus, cars in both Coach and Business classes are equipped with free WiFi for work or play online.

The Amtrak Wolverine has been an official Wanderu partner since 2015. You can search for and book the best deals on Amtrak tickets quickly and easily on Wanderu. And if you are an Amtrak Guest Rewards member, don’t forget to enter your unique number during checkout, so you can continue collecting points.

24 June 2024- Visiting friends

Chicago to Ann Arbor

Cons: The staff lack of help and information about disability accommodation I needed to move because I was in the wrong area. It was crowded and almost impossible to move. Needed help with the suitcase that had its own difficulties. Tips: It needs to be confirmed where the disabled seating is. I had no idea that there was a special place because that was not the case on the train from Berkeley California to Sacramento so I was as clueless as the staff.
