FlixBus US Bus Guide & FAQs

Yes, FlixBus US offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with FlixBus US will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. FlixBus US WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Most FlixBus US buses have between 50 and 55 passenger seats. Sometimes, depending on the route, FlixBus US may run a trip using a bus from a partnering bus company’s fleet, so the capacity will vary from partner to partner.

Yes, there are power outlets onboard FlixBus US buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since FlixBus US might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend bringing a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

On a typical day, FlixBus US has 158,016 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

No, FlixBus US does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station.

FlixBus US does not allow pets or animals onboard the bus. The only exception to this policy is for registered service dogs. Service dogs travel for free, but FlixBus US does request that passengers notify them in advance if you will be traveling with your service dog.

Yes, FlixBus US requires you to present an ID to an agent to board the bus. Make sure you have identification issued by a government agency that meets the carrier’s requirements. Alternative IDs, such as a college ID, won’t work.

Yes, there are bathrooms on FlixBus US buses. The bathrooms are pretty basic and include a toilet, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Most bathrooms don’t have running water. As you will be using a bathroom on a moving vehicle, please use caution and hold on to a rail at all times.

Yes, you can bring your bike when you travel with FlixBus US. Depending on the type of bus for your trip, your bike can be transported either on a bike carrier at the back of the bus, or in a bicycle bag in the baggage compartment.

When checking out, you will have the option of adding your bicycle to your FlixBus US reservation for a $10.99 USD fee. If the bus has a bike carrier, you can simply add a bike to your booking during checkout. If the bus doesn’t have a bike carrier, you can add one “special baggage” item upon checkout and this will allow your bike to be transported in a bicycle bag with other baggage under the bus.

If you do not have an ID, please contact FlixBus US directly to ask about alternative boarding options.

FlixBus US offers meal service during your trip with them. If you require a meal with special dietary restrictions, we suggest you contact FlixBus US customer service directly to see if one can be arranged to meet your needs.

Don’t worry about being parched while traveling with FlixBus US as they offer a beverage service to make sure you stay hydrated. Though we always recommend bringing a reusable water bottle with you to make sure you have water within easy reach and help reduce unnecessary plastic waste.

FlixBus US does not require a printed ticket to board the bus. Instead, an eTicket is sent to you via email when you make your reservation. You can use your smartphone to show this eTicket to the ticketing agent as you board.

FlixBus US goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as FlixBus US offers extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you get may vary between bus lines, but getting extra is always good.
