Pros: I was able to see some nice scenery - places I hadn’t seen from the highway. I really enjoyed it! Cons: Nothing- everything was good! Tips: None.

Pros: I didn't know there was going to be a huge snow storm in the Sierras that caused I-5 to be shut down. I was so glad I didn't drive. I got on at 8:30pm at night and I put in ear plugs and covered up with my blanket and I slept comfortably. Cons: Train was 4 hours late - it was raining when I left San Jose, CA Tuesday night, and I think rain/snow delayed us quite a bit. People need to know that trains are affected by weather. Tips: Bring: earplugs, pillow and a blanket and some of your own snacks. The kitchen broke so food was limited but I brought snacks so I was fine.

The depot has indoor and outdoor seating, and there's a mix of local shops and restaurants, like the Morning Glory Cafe and the Black Wolf Supper Club, right across the street.
