Pros: The view. Cons: 1. Be on time. No reason for the initial 1h30 minutes delay other than the time taken by the driver to check in initially and then time lost here and there solely because not enforcing the schedule. 2. The same first driver did not enforce any rules on the bus : people making non stop phone calls. She forgot to put electricity so no phone charge possible. Ans soon. Tips: The Greyhound line to NYC was canceled the same day, so no tip. The trip was long and even if the second driver, experienced, did try to catch up, did enforce rules from Albany, it was more than 2 hours late. But no other option, the train is still not back in use.

Pros: Nothing in particular. Cons: The worst part of the return trip was the stops especially those with the bus transfer. The stops were just used to delay the trip. We stayed more than an hour in Albany, in a station that only had machines for very poor quality food. The same people took the next bus, but we lost our starting seats. I had to stay with a stranger as well as my son. So, to be improved is to remove unnecessary stops in cities and especially the stop with the bus transfer. The possibility of reserving seats is also a recommendation. Having a more efficient internet would help a lot too. The electrical outlet in one of the buses (the 2 sockets) did not work either. So, making sure the electrical outlets are working is also another recommendation. Tips: Pay attention to buying tickets to avoid routes with stops (not always obvious).

Pros: The price. Cons: A bottle of water for passengers. Tips: Although they arrived early, the directions to the bus station departing from NYC are not clear on the carrier's ticket.

Adirondack Trailways Bus Guide & FAQs

What is the difference between Adirondack Trailways, New York Trailways and Pine Hill Trailways?

Adirondack Trailways, New York Trailways and Pine Hill Trailways are sub-brands of the Trailways of New York transportation company. Each brand operates as an individual business with its own network of routes and services.

Do Adirondack Trailways buses have WiFi?

Yes, Adirondack Trailways offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with Adirondack Trailways will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. Adirondack Trailways WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Are there power outlets or USB plugs on the bus?

Yes, there are power outlets onboard Adirondack Trailways buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since Adirondack Trailways might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.
