Pros: It was a very good trip. The only thing I didn't like was the four hour layover in Fort worth. Cons: Shorter layovers. Tips: The train is very comfortable.

Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station first opened in 1916, and connected Dallas to the United States’ growing rail network. Today, the station offers service on Amtrak’s Texas Eagle line which runs from Chicago to San Antonio. Passengers can also connect to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (or DART) within the station. Located just east of downtown Dallas, Union Station is conveniently close to the Dallas Convention Center, the primary bus station, and several of the area’s main freeways. Parking, restrooms, and vending machines are available at the station, and it’s easy to grab a quick bite at any one of numerous nearby eateries, from fast food joints to steakhouses.

Oklahoma City is the origin point for Amtrak’s Heartland Flyer train to Fort Worth, where travelers can connect to other Amtrak trains in the nation’s largest passenger rail network.
