Amtrak Southwest Chief

Pros: The view and the viewing carriage. Cons: Food downstairs was disgusting (microwaved burgers etc) and the food in the dining car upstairs was way overpriced. Bathroom doors didn't lock properly. Wifi was advertised but wasn't actually offered. Chairs relatively comfortable but perhaps dividers are needed between seats, as the person next to me took up space on my seat. Tips: Don't expect wifi! I would definitely take a pillow and blanket (it got quite cold!). I ended up sleeping in the viewing car because I could lie down. Take ear plugs and an eye cover for sleep. Definitely pack your own food!! Have a book and downloaded movies.
