About Metro Fares

LA’s Metro system operates using one-trip tickets or TAP cards that you can add money to and use to travel around town on the entire Metro network. One trip costs $1.75 and there are discounts for daily, weekly & monthly passes. We strongly recommend using a TAP card because that way you will be able to make free transfers between Metro’s buses, subway lines, and rail services!

You can find information about all fares here.

IMPORTANT: If you have to take the bus and you don’t have a TAP card, you will have to pay cash when you are boarding the bus. If that happens, you MUST have exact change for $1.75 because LA buses don’t accept credit cards and drivers can’t give you change!

Also, if you want information about what to do in LA while you’re in town to visit the Rose Bowl, check out our customized LA guide here.
