Routes & Coverage

Imperial Charters provides essential coverage for travelers looking for easy access to the enchanting coast of the Lone Star State, offering direct trips from Dallas to Galveston and back again. Whether you’re yearning for a weekend getaway to the Gulf Coast or planning a business trip to the heart of Texas, this route offers unparalleled convenience to the diverse attractions and experiences awaiting you in both Dallas and Galveston.

Dallas Bus Stop

The drop-off/pick-up location in Dallas is located at 801 S Riverfront Blvd, which is the address of a local gas station chain called Fuel City. Fun fact: besides moonlighting as a bus stop, the gas station also offers delicious street tacos 24/7 (the Barbacoa is worth the journey in itself 🤤).

This location is very close to Downtown Dallas and just a 6-minute Uber/Lyft ride from the city’s Union Station, making it easy to plan a trip that involves multiple stops.

Galveston Bus Stop

In Galveston, you’ll arrive or board at 2418 The Strand, Galveston’s main street. This stop is conveniently located at The Cruise Shop, where you can stock up on luggage and snacks, and then walk a block or two right to the cruise ship terminals. You can also wander down the Strand for old-school creameries, an array of diverse shops and boutiques, and an abundance of delicious restaurants.

Imperial Charters Schedule

The Dallas/Galveston trips run daily on Thursday through Monday, meaning that there isn’t service on Tuesday or Wednesday on this route. Of course, this aligns perfectly for passengers looking for a weekend getaway or those hopping on a cruise.

Speaking of a seafaring vacay, with a Galveston arrival time of 11 am, Imperial Charters is the perfect choice if you are headed on a cruise. It will get to the cruise terminal well before 1 pm, which is when boarding normally starts for most cruise lines.

Weekly Schedule

While these serve as the foundational rates, it’s important to note that fares may vary based on factors such as route congestion or booking lead time. But don’t forget: when you search on Wanderu, you’re scoring the best deals available!

Imperial Charters' Fleet

Imperial Charters boasts 3 types of vehicles within their fleet, with their 14-Passenger Executive Sprinter Vans, 27-Passenger Mini Buses, and 56-Passenger Luxury Motorcoaches. While the size varies greatly, they all have something in common: absolute comfort.

Amenities differ based on the size of the vehicle, but the majority of trips on the Dallas/Galveston route will utilize the larger motorcoach. Onboard, you’ll find comfy leather seats with ample legroom with the option to recline, along with the following additional amenities:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Restrooms
  • DVD with at least 5 monitors
  • Power outlets
  • Reading lights
  • Individual overhead air vents
  • Covered overhead storage
  • Seatbelts for safety

Other Texas Carriers

Carriers like Flixbus US, Greyhound, and Megabus have impressive coverage across all major Texas cities – but Galveston doesn’t get as much love as Houston, Austin, and Dallas (which is a shame considering it’s one of the best destinations to visit in Texas!).

Amtrak does offer trains to Galveston, but it can be difficult to find a direct route, even from cities within Texas. Now Imperial Charters fills in the gaps with affordable bus service straight to the Gulf Coast!

With Wanderu, you get to enjoy the coverage of over 500 carriers all in one place. Take a bus from Amarillo to Dallas, or a train from Albuquerque, hop onto an Imperial Charters bus, and be tanning on the beach in no time. All while getting the lowest prices on bus and train fares with the Wanderu app

Imperial Charters may not offer hundreds of routes, but they’ve found a sorely needed niche in Texas bus travel. Plus, they’ve designed their schedules to be as convenient as possible, whether you’re heading for a day trip to the beach or boarding a cruise ship in the harbor. We’re delighted to have Imperial Charters as part of the Wanderu family, and we can’t wait for passengers to enjoy the ease of traveling to Galveston and Dallas.
