Spring Break Destinations: The Best Beach Getaways

Table of Contents

If the only thing you can think of when you hear spring break is hitting the beach, we’ve found the perfect places for your oceanfront getaway, whether you want to party hard, dance in style, or just chill on the sand while soaking in the sun.

Myrtle Beach, SC

For the full-on spring break experience, make your way to the coast of South Carolina to party in Myrtle Beach!

Spend your day on the actual beach, to get your fix of Vitamin D, go for a swim, and hang with your crew. Then, when the sun goes down, roll out to one of the many clubs on the Grand Strand to dance the night away.

Spring break staple Señor Frog’s is always packed with hot people having a good time. For a taste of the Mardi Gras party, try the variety of daiquiris at Fat Tuesday, including the strongest concoction on the beach, the 190 Octane daiquiri. And for something a little different, Crocodile Rocks features dueling pianos for a fun soundtrack to your party.

You can get a new perspective of the beach with a ride on the Sky Wheel, where you can take in ocean views during the day and or head up with your bae at night for some alone time high above the city lights. Then get back to your favorite bar!

How to get there: Book a ticket to Myrtle Beach from Atlanta, Savannah, Raleigh and other Southern cities!

Fort Lauderdale, FL

For a wild spring break in sunny Florida, make Fort Lauderdale your base for beach partying!

If you’re in need of food and drinks during your day at the beach, it’s an easy walk to The Drunken Taco. With a selection of 249 tequilas – which can (and should!) be turned into margaritas – and a selection of tacos and other Mexican fare, you’ll have all the fuel you need for a fun day.

Tap 42 is a gastropub that likes a party, with plenty of good food and great beer. Wednesday is Ladies Night, which is where you want to be if you are a lady or just looking to find them.

For a wild dance party and nonstop craziness, head to Escape Lounge. This club, established in 2017, has more than 10,000 LED lights flashing on their dance floor. If you’re looking to dance till dawn, this is the place.

How to get there: Book a ticket to Fort Lauderdale from Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and lots of other places across the country!

Miami, FL

Keep it classy with a swank spring break on South Beach – a party destination all year round that only turns it up more this time of year!

Ocean Drive is the main street running through South Beach, and you can have your fun in the sun on the beach or at one of the many amazing hotel pools. Though a lot of these pools have a cover charge, many are open to the public certain days of the week for pool parties, so you can go pool bar hopping during your spring break.

The Clevelander is the famous place to be for night of partying on South Beach. With its pool patio stage and several poolside bars, you can make this your first, last, or only stop for the night.

Mango’s Tropical Cafe is another must-stop on the party circuit in Miami. The party is definitely hot in here, with Latin music and dancers, along with tropical drinks

Wandering down the South Beach strip, you’ll find no shortage of bars and clubs, so you can stay up all night and make the most of your spring break in Miami!

How to get there: Book a ticket to Miami from Orlando, TampaAtlanta, and many other cities around the country!

Santa Monica, CA

For spring break with a California vibe, make your way to Santa Monica beach and party Hollywood-style.

The beach showcases the beautiful Pacific Coast, and the world-famous Santa Monica Pier provides plenty of ways to stay entertained during the day with restaurants, bars, street performers, vendors, carnival rides and a Ferris wheel.

When you’re ready to hit the town at night, head to one of the high-class hotel pools – but definitely look for ones that don’t charge a cover, like the rooftop party spot at Hotel Shangri-La or the penthouse bar at the Huntley.

The Misfit, right near all the shops and restaurants on Third Street Promenade, has a happy hour starting at noon on weekdays, along with lunch specials, and a fun and funky atmosphere. British pub Cock & Bull is a little farther away from the beach, but it’s still a party place where the cheap beer keeps flowing.

How to get there: Book a ticket to Los Angeles from Anaheim, Las Vegas, and San Diego, and take Metro Rail’s Expo Line train from downtown LA to Santa Monica.

Don’t just dream about the sun, book a ticket to one of these hot spots on Wanderu.com or by downloading the Wanderu app, and hit the beach!
