Although Oxford is probably best known for its world-class university and the famous Bodleian library, there is much more to the city than just academia. On a sunny day, take a punt down the River Cherwell at the Cherwell Boathouse, but make sure to book in advance if you'd like a chauffeur.

If the weather is less favorable, visit the famous Oxford Covered Market, where you can wander through over 55 shops in the 18th-century building. Oxford is also home to several museums, including the famous Ashmolean Museum that has been around since 1683. The Ashmolean mainly showcases art and archaeology; however, if that's not your style, alternatives include the Museum of Natural History or the Museum of History and Science.

If you'd prefer to experience history first-hand, visit Oxford Castle, a building that has been in existence for over 1,000 years. Guided tours are available where you can hear stories of the castle's inhabitants and its fascinating history.

National Express and Megabus provide access to Oxford from London and other cities, while frequent train service is also available.

Kingston-Upon-Hull, or simply Hull, is a port city in the East Yorkshire county of England. Although most popular for its port where ferries depart for the continent, this surprising city became the City of Culture in 2017, with more on offer than ever.

Hull's presence as a settlement dates back to the 12th century, and the town grew to be a significant wool and fishing industry town. Hull’s many free museums detail the city's complex history, including its role in the English Civil War and the bombings it experienced in World War II. Other museums offer art displays as well as transport exhibitions.

The iconic Humber Bridge is just a short 10 minute drive from Hull. This 1.4-mile suspension bridge has enough photo opportunities to rival even some of the world's most famous bridges.

Hull is served by Humber International Airport, with shuttle buses running to the city. Hull Paragon Interchange in the center of the town allows for easy rail access from all over the country. Bus services, like National Express, also operate from here. These transport options all serve as connections to the P&O Ferries that depart from Hull to Rotterdam.

Main arrival station: Hull Railway Station

Hull Railway Station is part of the city's transport interchange where rail, bus, and coach services intersect in the center of Hull. The train station first opened in 1847, and as part of the development of St Stephen's shopping center next door in the early 2000s, a bus station was integrated into the station. Some of Hull's best shopping is in the shopping center next to the station, but the city's attractions, restaurants, and the Princess Quay mall are also within a short walk. The station's bright and airy interior includes waiting areas, a travel information desk, restrooms, and several shops and cafes. Several train lines, including TransPennine Express, Northern Trains, and London North Eastern Railway, offer service to and from Hull Railway Station.
