About Southeastern Stages

Founded in 1933 by A. C. Shipman and J. W. Hughes, Southeastern Stages has a long legacy of providing reliable, affordable bus transportation. The carrier has grown from a small motorcoach company operating on dirt roads to the premier bus service it is today, serving 21 cities across the Southeastern U.S. including in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Southeastern Stages features a fleet of 40 modern buses with a high standard of passenger safety. Their buses were some of the first in the region to adopt vehicles with advanced collision avoidance technology, and Southern Stages has one of the largest fleets of ADA-compliant coaches in the Southeast. To keep the fleet up and running, Southeastern Stages takes pride in frequent, proactive maintenance schedules with trained and experienced technicians for every coach in their service.

In addition to superior safety features, Southeastern Stages offers various amenities for comfort and convenience, such as free Wi-Fi, reclining seats, overhead reading lights, and restrooms. Power outlets are also available in the majority of buses, and Southeastern Stages is working diligently to equip the remainder of the fleet.

Since 2014, Southeastern Stages has been an official partner of Wanderu, allowing travelers to search schedules, compare ticket prices, and get the best deals all in one place. Through Wanderu, you can easily buy cheap Southeastern Stages bus tickets hassle-free.

Pros: The short breaks to stretch my legs. First ride was very full. But the way home was much better. Cons: The schedule for my trip from Charleston to Atlanta was not accurate. I left at 10am like I was supposed to and the schedule I received said that I would be in Atlanta at 8:45pm. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out I would be in Atlanta around 5.

Southeastern Stages Bus Guide & FAQs

Do Southeastern Stages buses have WiFi?

Yes, Southeastern Stages offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with Southeastern Stages will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. Southeastern Stages WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Are there power outlets or USB plugs on the bus?

Yes, there are power outlets onboard Southeastern Stages buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since Southeastern Stages might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

What is Southeastern Stages's schedule?

On a typical day, Southeastern Stages has 688 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Can you pick up will call tickets at the station?

No, Southeastern Stages does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station.

Do you need an ID to get on the bus?

Yes, Southeastern Stages requires you to present an ID to an agent to be allowed to board the bus. Make sure you have identification issued by a government agency that meets the carrier’s requirements. Alternative IDs, such as a college ID, won’t work.

What are Southeastern Stages’s COVID-19 policies?

Are there bathrooms on Southeastern Stages buses?

Are meals or beverages available?

Southeastern Stages does not offer meals or beverages onboard. We recommend you bring a drink and some snacks for your trip. We also suggest packing a reusable water bottle with you to reduce your impact on the environment. However, note that most buses do not allow you to bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Do you have to print your Southeastern Stages ticket?

Yes, Southeastern Stages requires that all passengers have printed tickets to board the bus. When you book with Wanderu and activate your account, you will be able to easily find and download your tickets for most buses.

Does Southeastern Stages offer any premium features like extra legroom or movies?
