PandaNY Bus passenger reviews

February 23, 2024- Visiting family

New York to Virginia Beach

Pros: Nice people. Cons: Seating. Tips: Come early.

February 23, 2024- Regular commuter

New York to Albany

Cons: Ask travelers to use headphones for phone use. Tips: Wear a poncho and protect yourself. I felt so dirty touching any surface.

February 19, 2024- Visiting friends

New York to Albany

Cons: The windows were rattling a lot, especially the emergency window. Almost shaking out of the frames. Felt unsafe. Also, someone was smoking on the bus and no one enforced the no smoking policy. Was disruptive for me especially while I had a sinus infection, even though I was masked. Not a fan of smelling like cigarettes and being a lifetime non smoker. Gross. Tips: Where a mask.

February 19, 2024- Visiting family

New York to Albany

Pros: The bus arrived on time but left the site late. The passengers were smoking cigarettes and marijuana on the bus which was very disgusting and made it very uncomfortable. There were children on board and people such as myself who began coughing. The driver this time wasn’t smoking this time but made a wrong turn which delayed us for a few minutes. Cons: The guidelines says no smoking but there needs to be at least a bus monitor someone who is on with the driver to enforce rules. Clean sanitation between trips.

January 31, 2024- Couples trip

Buffalo to New York

Pros: The bus was comfortable. Cons: I left my AirPods on the bus and have filed a lost & found, sent an email to Tribal Sun, and left a voicemail. They have GPS tracking and have been on the bus for almost a week now. I'd just like to be able to pick them up please! If so, it would be a 5 star review. Tips: Do not clip your AirPods to the outside of your bag. Rookie mistake.

PandaNY Bus Bus Guide & FAQs

Each passenger may bring one checked bag and one carry-on bag. The checked bag must weigh 50 pounds or less; its height, width, and length dimensions must add up to no more than 62 inches. Each piece of additional baggage will incur a fee of $10 to $100 depending on its size.

All PandaNY Bus tickets are non-refundable. Passengers may reschedule their tickets up until 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. Afterwards, rescheduling is not allowed. Each ticket can be rescheduled up to 3 times; a rescheduling fee may apply each time.

If you miss your original bus, your ticket becomes a “standby” ticket which can be used to board a later bus on the same day if there is room available. A $10 fee may apply when standby tickets are used.

Yes, PandaNY Bus offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with PandaNY Bus will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. PandaNY Bus WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Yes, there are power outlets onboard PandaNY Bus buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since PandaNY Bus might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

On a typical day, PandaNY Bus has 131 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Panda currently has three active stops in New York City. All three stops are located in Manhattan’s Chinatown district and are within walking distance of each other.

PandaNY Bus is primarily known for connecting New York City to cities in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. This includes 6 cities in Virginia, 22 in North Carolina, 10 in South Carolina, 4 in Tennessee, and 4 in Georgia. There are also buses to Maryland, Alabama, and Florida.

PandaNY Bus does not require a printed ticket to board the bus. Instead, an eTicket is sent to you by email when you make your reservation. You can use your smartphone to show this eTicket to the ticketing agent as you board.

PandaNY Bus goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Movies are provided during the bus trip to keep you entertained. Don’t forget to bring your favorite pair of headphones, as headphones are not always included on the bus. We recommend in-ear noise cancelling headphones due to their small size.
