Amtrak

Pros: Smooth bus trip, great scenery. Few people on a big bus = health safety. Don't know about covid measures, never discussed. Cons: It was a challenge to find the starting point for the bus in Palm Springs. There was no Amtrak marker at the bus stop, just the local bus numbers. Casino folks knew nothing. I ended up going to the airport to catch the bus to be sure I wouldn't miss it. ie, no Amtrak staff anywhere til the bus driver. Also, there was a 1.5 hour layover in Fullerton. I bought a separate ticket for the Metrolink to arrive in Irvine earlier. Tips: Make sure you know where the bus stop is. Check schedules carefully.
