Pros
I like being able to sit back and just relax and not have to pay attention to the driving.
Cons
At the ft worth station I think you need to make instructions a little more clear as to where you catch your train you have to do quite a bit of walking and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that at first

Pros
Not having to deal with traffic. First time I have been in the cafe car. Loved the scenic windows.
Cons
Was caught in a bad thunderstorm walking out to the very far platform. Would have been nice had the train been a little closer and maybe if we had been offered towels even paper towels to dry off with. I dripped water for 2 hours.
Tips
Sit back and enjoy the trip. Download the ap to see train speed and where you are.

Is there WiFi onboard Amtrak Texas Eagle?

No, Amtrak Texas Eagle does not offer WiFi at this time. We find that a good book makes the time fly by and streaming services like Netflix allow you download TV shows and movies that you can then watch during your trip. Plan ahead and you will stay entertained during the entire train ride.

Are there power outlets on a Amtrak Texas Eagle train? Are there USB plugs?

Yes, there are power outlets onboard Amtrak Texas Eagle train trips. You can generally find one or two plugs per row of seats, so be a good traveler and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a power outlet USB converter that typically come with most phones and tablets. Since Amtrak Texas Eagle might sometimes use replacement train vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power outlets. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

Does Amtrak Texas Eagle offer will call tickets, that you pick up at the station?

No, currently Amtrak Texas Eagle does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station or stop.

Do you need an ID to get on a Amtrak Texas Eagle train?

Yes, Amtrak Texas Eagle requires you to present an ID to an agent to be allowed to board the train. Make sure you have identification issued by a government agency that meets the carrier’s requirements. Alternative IDs, like a college ID, won’t work.

Can you use your phone to board Amtrak Texas Eagle?

Yes, you can board Amtrak Texas Eagle by showing your E Ticket on your phone. The E Ticket is emailed to when you make your reservation. To save yourself the trouble of digging through your inbox to find your ticket, get the Wanderu app and pull up your ticket with one click.

Are there bathrooms on Amtrak Texas Eagle trains?

Yes, there are bathrooms on Amtrak Texas Eagle train trips. The bathrooms are pretty basic and include a toilet, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Most bathrooms don’t have running water. As you will be using a bathroom on a moving vehicle, please use caution and hold on to a rail at all times.

Are meals or beverages offered onboard Amtrak Texas Eagle trips?

Amtrak Texas Eagle provides snacks to satisfy your hunger during your travels. Check with the carrier if snacks are for sale, and pack a credit card and some cash in case you get hungry.

Do you have to print your Amtrak Texas Eagle ticket?

Amtrak Texas Eagle does not require a printed ticket to board the train. An E Ticket is sent to you by email that you can load on most electronic devices. You will want to have your ticket ready to be displayed as you board for the agent to scan. We recommend you download the Wanderu app, as it gives you super easy access to E Tickets for your upcoming trips for most carriers. As back up, road warriors recommend taking a screenshot of your E Ticket. That way, you won’t be fumbling around in case your internet connection cuts out.

Does Amtrak Texas Eagle offer any premium features like extra legroom, movies or TV?

Amtrak Texas Eagle goes the extra distance to deliver up-class offerings to its customers. Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as Amtrak Texas Eagle advertises that they offer extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you might get varies from carrier to carrier, but getting extra is always good.
