Pros
No pressure, no hassles, no frenzied hurrying around. Met some new friends. A bygone era reborn. Loved it! Will do this more often. Can't wait for the next trip!
Cons
The St. Louis, MO station compared to others is shabby and not in great place. They should move it back to Union Station.
Tips
Sit back relax and enjoy the ride.

Pros
It got me here
Cons
Amtrak put me on a Greyhound from St. Louis to Bloomington that went on back roads, stopping at many towns along the way. When I was dropped off at the station, an Amtrak agent told me I could’ve taken the 4:45 bus and made the same connection into Chicago. This would’v...More
Tips
Be sure Amtrak hasn’t switched you to Greyhound making local stops, not using Interstates, to make for an unnecessarily Long & uncomfortable journey.

Pros
I liked the straight shot from St.Louis to Chicago. There was full service concession offered aboard that came as a welcomed surprise.
Cons
We didn’t have many interactions with staff but we did witness poor service from an associate that made me grateful I’d bought from Wanderu.
Tips
There is only one bus/train station in downtown St.Louis. No need to arrive hours in advanced here, 40 minutes is plenty. There is long term or overnight parking charged by the 24 hours at $9/day. Very secure.

Is there WiFi onboard Amtrak Lincoln Service?

Yes Amtrak Lincoln Service offers WiFi connection onboard their train trips. Though most trips with Amtrak Lincoln Service will have WiFi as advertised, some trips might not come equipped with Wifi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. Amtrak Lincoln Service WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends, you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Are there power outlets on a Amtrak Lincoln Service train? Are there USB plugs?

Yes, there are power outlets onboard Amtrak Lincoln Service train trips. You can generally find one or two plugs per row of seats, so be a good traveler and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a power outlet USB converter that typically come with most phones and tablets. Since Amtrak Lincoln Service might sometimes use replacement train vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power outlets. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

Amtrak Lincoln Service does not require a printed ticket to board the train. An E Ticket is sent to you by email that you can load on most electronic devices. You will want to have your ticket ready to be displayed as you board for the agent to scan. We recommend you download the Wanderu app, as it gives you super easy access to E Tickets for your upcoming trips for most carriers. As back up, road warriors recommend taking a screenshot of your E Ticket. That way, you won’t be fumbling around in case your internet connection cuts out.
