Amtrak Illinois Zephyr

Pros: New, modern coach. Helpful staff. Basic efficiency. Cons: Poor directions in Chicago Union Station made finding the gate confusing. Some staff did not make themselves clear and announcements were sometimes difficult to hear clearly. Tips: Take care to be neat in bathrooms.

Amtrak Illinois Zephyr

Pros: As expected. I have used Amtrak for this route many times. Am very pleased with the upgrade to some carriages. Would suggest seats that can recline, though these were pretty comfortable. If the dining car had been open, I would have used it. Was pleased that some travelers were allowed to bring a dog (not a service animal) on board. Really enjoyed that. I also noticed that the announcements during travel were much clearer and at good volume (I do NOT have a hearing impairment). Cons: Keep up the good work and continue making it better across all trains and trips. Tips: Please respect the cleanliness and noise guidelines. Makes the trip better for everyone.
