Saratoga Springs is a small city in New York with a big reputation for horse racing. The city is home to both the Saratoga Race Course and the National Museum of Horse Racing. Wealthy visitors built opulent Victorian homes in Saratoga to stay during the summers, gamble on horse races, and seek health from the area's natural mineral water springs. The closest airport is the Albany International Airport, about 40 minutes away.

The station is served by two VIA Rail lines and one Amtrak line, the Adirondack, which connects Saint-Lambert to New York City. This station also serves as a stop for four local bus lines. Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before departure if you're checking baggage on your train journey. If you arrive early, you can always stop by La Piazzetta Saint-Lambert or Les assoiffés – BISTRO, both of which are well-known diners within a one-kilometer range.
