About Martz Trailways

Martz Trailways, operated by the Martz Group, is a family-owned bus company with headquarters in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Martz Trailways offers intercity bus service to 7 cities, from the Poconos Mountains to destinations like New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.

Founded in 1908 by Frank Martz Sr. as the White Transit Co., the company originally provided transportation between mining towns in the Coal Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. By 1922, the company evolved into the newly-formed Frank Martz Coach Co. to offer intercity bus service throughout the Northeast. As the company grew, Martz helped establish the National Trailways Bus System, a network of more than 70 bus carriers that together connect bus service across the United States.

Across all of Martz Trailways' 36 routes, the carrier’s comfortable buses are equipped with power outlets and free WiFi, as well as onboard restrooms. Martz Trailways usually operates 102 trips each day, with bus ticket prices ranging from $10.00 to $76.00 depending on the route.

Martz Trailways is an official Wanderu partner, making it easy to find all Martz bus schedules and book the best available bus ticket for your travels. Plus, when you book on Wanderu, you know you'll score the best deal on Martz Trailways bus tickets, without any added fees.

Martz Trailways Bus Guide & FAQs

Do Martz Trailways buses have WiFi?

Yes, Martz Trailways offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with Martz Trailways will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. Martz Trailways WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Are there power outlets or USB plugs on the bus?

Yes, there are power outlets onboard Martz Trailways buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since Martz Trailways might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.
