Pros: I enjoyed it very much. The train was on time it was very clean the staff were all very helpful and the passengers were considerate and friendly. I also got to see the country side. It took longer than a plane trip, 19 hours compared to 9 hours if there were no delays. I felt less stressed. I didn’t have to be there two hours before departure for TSA inspection .I didn’t have to run between gates to make timely connections. For the route to Springfield Illinois I would’ve had to change planes three times and pray that none of those flights were canceled. oh and the price was right it was definitely more affordable than the plane. Overall I had a most pleasant experience. Cons: Since this was my first time traveling by train I was looking for information about my specific journey. I had to do a lot of reading to find out what to expect not that that was bad but I wish there were more concise way of learning about Your individual trip. Tips: Wear comfortable clothes, limit the number of bags you bring because you’re gonna have to maneuver them. Shoulder bags are good if you’re traveling overnight bring something to eat and drink, a small blanket and a small travel pillow and sunglasses to darken the effects of any lighting that may affect your sleep.
