About Amtrak Maple Leaf

Named after the iconic symbol of Canada, the Amtrak Maple Leaf is an international rail line that connects New York City and Toronto. Amtrak and VIA Rail jointly operate the line, and it has been in operation since 1981. A trip from New York City to Toronto takes over 12 hours, but that includes plenty of time for customs and immigration inspection at the border.

The Amtrak Maple Leaf line is a popular transportation method for international commuters since it is a convenient and stress-free way to travel from New York State into Ontario. The Maple Leaf stops at popular destinations along the way, including the world-famous Niagara Falls. In total, the train line serves 17 cities.

Each Maple Leaf train features onboard WiFi and food available for purchase in the cafe car. Passengers can choose between a Coach Class or Business Class seat, the latter of which includes additional legroom and complimentary beverages. You can also take pets or a bicycle on the Maple Leaf, with some restrictions.

The Amtrak Maple Leaf has been an official Wanderu partner since 2015, which makes it easy to compare tickets on the Maple Leaf with all other available bus and train tickets. You can always find the cheapest Amtrak Maple Leaf tickets on Wanderu and book easily.
