Amtrak Texas Eagle

Pros: The friendliness of most of the staff was a treat. The announcements made by the conductor were informative and clear. It is hard to hear in a roomette at the end of the line though. Cons: A little more instruction regarding the dining car location and rules would have been nice. My son and I traveled together, both new to the experience and encountered a rather rude lady in the dining car. We did not know the procedures and I had to place him where the "coach" class guests belonged so he could eat as he was not permitted to sit with me. He has special needs and it became a very stressful situation. Tips: If you are new to the experience, find an attendant whom you feel comfortable with and ask, ask, ask.
