Amtrak also operates a Thruway bus service from the defunct Sarasota rail station to Tampa for onward connections by train on the Silver Service. This service runs between Miami and New York City via Washington, D.C.

Des Moines is the capital city of Iowa and the most populous city in the state. Des Moines is home to historic landmarks, especially in the East Village area. These include the gold-domed Iowa State Capitol building.
