Amtrak Pacific Surfliner
Pros: I enjoy the smoothness of the Amtrak trains, as well as the friendly staff. Being able to sit in the diner car and enjoy a local beer while viewing the scenery is always a favorite. Cons: General cleanliness of seats and rails, more frequently than is maintained. Tips: Amtraks (as many American trains) are often late. However, when they do arrive on time, they may also depart promptly, to the minute scheduled, so it's best to treat these trains as nothing but accurate in their schedules, when planning arrival and departures of stations.
