Outlets only on one side of the seats. For the regional at least, having a sign with the next stop might be nice (difficult to hear announcements at times)

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: I didn't have to drive. Cons: Announcing the next station and how long it would be until arriving at it would be helpful to those of us who don't travel often enough to know the route. Tips: Secure your luggage and make it hard for others to mistake it for theirs. I witnessed a man having to disembark without his because another passenger took his. Said thief could not be tracked down because (based on info the conductor gleaned from the similar bag left behind and a call to the ticketing agent) the other passenger had not listed phone or address and had paid in cash. Victim was asked to carry the remaining bag to lost and found when he disembarked.

Pros: There was a security guy who helped my husband and I with our ticket. They scanned and deleted it by mistake on my other train going to Washington DC so when I came back from DC to Providence it was showing that my trip was canceled, so the guy helped us to fix the issue. Great customer service!! Cons: Nothing, the train was great! Tips: Wear comfortable clothes so you can relax and bring stuff to entertain yourself if you have a long train ride.
