Amtrak Pennsylvanian

Pros: My seat had a ton of leg room and I was very happy with the baggage policy. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and courteous and balanced a great line between being friendly and efficient. Cons: I was a little disappointed with the quality of the Pittsburgh Amtrak station. It isn't the fault of the workers at all but walking to Union Station I would have expected something a little more nice and up-to-date and instead was greeted by a run-down station with sad lighting. The workers did their absolute best to make the best of their working condition but I feel that the overall station and the quality of the trip would be improved if the station received a little more love and care. Also, I was a little concerned about the wifi on the train. Free wi-fi was advertised, and while I did receive a signal, it never seemed to let my phone fully connect to it. I did as much trouble shooting as I could and it never seemed to fully connect so I had to rely on my own data plan for the whole trip. Tips: Arrive early and don't check your bags! It was so much easier to just keep them above on the rack and grab and go when I got to my station.
