Intercity buses to Burlington and local Green Mountain Transit both operate through the Downtown Transit Center at the corner of Pearl Street and St. Paul Street. A covered boarding area runs the length of St. Paul Street, where passengers board local transit, Vermont Translines, Greyhound, and Amtrak Thruway buses. Although there is no indoor waiting area, there are usually staff at the station if you need information. The station is extremely convenient, located right next to Burlington's charming pedestrian mall, Church Street Marketplace, in the center of town.

South Station's 13 tracks are used by Amtrak, Acela, the MBTA commuter rail, and the MBTA subway system (a.k.a. the "T") with connections to the Boston Logan International Airport. You can also access intercity bus service in the adjacent South Station Bus Terminal.
