Train Trip Reviews from Wanderu Customers

Average score for trains from Newport News to Woodbridge

(Based on 3 ratings and reviews)

May 9, 2024- Visiting family

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: I did not have to drive! Quick and easy, did not have to get off the train until I reached my destination! Cons: Signage on train indicated next stop. Could be merged into sigh indicating where the restrooms are. Would be an additional measure for less confusion for upcoming stops. The conductor was very nice, but soft spoken. As a Senior, I could barely hear him. Even when he was walking through the train announcing. He did speak louder once I brought it to his attention. Tips: Be aware of others on the train when boarding and off boarding. Common courtesy goes a long way.

October 13, 2023- Visiting friends

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: Based on my outbound trip to Newport News on 10/10/23, when I tried to bid to upgrade to business class on my return trip, which I unfortunately didn’t win, I was glad to experience travelling on coach on my return trip to Woodbridge. Because I boarded from Newport News, I was able to get the perfect seat, closer to the Cafe Car and away from the restrooms. The seat was just as comfortable and I got to meet some very nice people. And again, Sammy the Conductor, assisted me with my luggage and informed me ahead of time that my stop was upcoming. I told him maybe he’ll see me again next year when I make another trip. Cons: Nothing new to report. Tips: Nothing new to report.

July 23, 2021- Visiting family

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: Convenient and affordable. I understand as prices on everything is on the rise this trip truly was in my budget and removed the traffic concerns in Northern Virginia. Cons: Nothing readily comes to mind. Tips: Book early.
