Greyhound

Pros: The Peter Pan bus was great, but the Greyhound stank a bit for some reason. Cons: I was only sent a ticket for one leg of a journey which had a transfer. It didn't matter much as the driver had a list of names but for the future it would be good to have all the ticket barcodes necessary.

Greyhound

Pros: Bus was fine. No complaints. Cons: Some things can't be solved. No terminal =waiting in cold; cheap ticket=few employees working=no one to ask questions. Bus was 30 minutes late which made for a 2 hour layover. 🤔.

OurBus

Pros: Bus was less than half full, so ride was peaceful and quiet. I got timely notifications that my bus was running a little late. Cons: There was a WiFi router that I could connect to, but it did not have an internet connection. WiFi that actually works would be good. The bus was about 15 minutes late in picking me up, and more than half an hour late in arriving, but at least some of the latter was due to heavy traffic, possibly weather-related (there was a storm in front of us).

Colloquially referred to as "Paradise City," this city situated among mountains, farmlands, and forests is often overlooked but should not be missed. With a rarely-seen combination of rural lifestyle and sophisticated urban charm, Northampton offers culture, academia, and a welcoming small-town feel.

Northampton is the home of one of the country's top-ranked women's liberal arts colleges, Smith College. Wander through Smith College Museum of Art to find works by Picasso, and be sure to take a bathroom break in the museum; even the restrooms are works of art!

Every Saturday morning, the Northampton Farmers' Market offers a spread of all things local and organic, as well as a taste of some of New England's delicacies. With opportunities to hike, bike, eat, drink, read, dance, and explore, you'll be sure to find something you love in this wonderfully diverse city.

Whatever mode of transport you prefer, you can easily reach Northampton. Amtrak's Vermonter line—one of the country's most scenic train routes— connects Northampton south to Washington, D.C., and north to (you guessed it) Vermont. Peter Pan and OurBus also offer bus services to the city. Nearby airports include Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT, and Boston Logan International Airport.

Boston

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the country, but it is kept young and fresh with the help of over 150,000 students who flock to the city’s prestigious universities every year. Beantown’s many sights and activities celebrate American history, prolific sports teams, and New England seafood. So let's spill the tea (into the harbor, if you will):

Boston's Freedom Trail is the best way to see the city on foot and visit some of the most iconic landmarks of the American Revolution: from Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution to the Old North Church and Faneuil Hall. The Freedom Trail officially begins in Boston Common, the oldest public park in the U.S. and a beautiful spot for walking, picnicking, or ice skating in the winter. Foodies will love tasting the Italian cuisine in the North End and the modern eateries of South End, while sports fans can tour Fenway Park, and art lovers can explore the expansive Museum of Fine Arts.

From Boston, travelers can easily get to the beachy summer destination of Cape Cod, or surrounding states like New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island. With four main train stations and several bus stops in the city, as well as Boston Logan Airport (which, by the way, has some excellent airport food), Boston is a central hub for travel throughout New England and beyond.
