Pros: Beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed the dining cars with tables & wide windows. Cons: A few of the Conductor ladies were very impressed with their own authority. To be honest - a little too bossy. Ticket counter lady in Cary - very helpful & very pleasant; fellow who manned the dining & drink bar - pleasant, efficient, & very helpful. Tips: We Bid to upgrade to Business Class - it was obvious that we were a party of three; wound up that our bid of $20 per seat was accepted & then I found out less than 1/2 hour before departure none of the upgraded seats were remotely near each other. We were Promised a refund when I said that was not acceptable- MAKE SURE you get reserved seats in your bid process; we were never given the choice to select seats in the on-line process. Hope our refund actually materializes…

Pros: I dislike driving. I love the scenery from a train I love meeting interesting people and seeing families traveling together and people anticipating their destinations. Cons: I truly wish that we had the modern train service and rail systems that exist in other countries. I believe that President Biden and Pete Buttiegieg are on the right “track” with their plans to improve our US infrastructure. Tips: Wear a mask and bring an extra and remember the rules you learned in Kindergarten (overheard from conversation between awesome crew on the Carolinian train #80 Cary NC to Richmond VA) but I totally agree.
